Bike Riders We are recreational bikers, NOT a competitive racing club. We ride at a leisurely pace to enjoy the sights and magnificent views along our planned paths. The objective is to have fun, get some exercise, and to explore the hidden byways of the Cape.
Our rides are held on Mondays at a time and starting place to be announced for that week's tour. Our trips are scheduled for different towns and areas from Provincetown to the Cape Cod Canal. Occasionally we go off-Cape to Boston or the islands. The fall schedule is below. The spring season will be sent by e-mail to all group members in late winter. Weekly reminders, and if necessary, cancellations are sent by e-mails.
The average ride is 14/15 miles. We are usually done in 2 hours and then have lunch at a local restaurant. We stop along the route to rest, view the sights and visit historical locations. Individuals, who previewed the week's ride, lead the group.
There is no obligation to ride every Monday, but wearing a bike helmet is mandatory. We travel with safety as a priority. This is done if we stay together as a group. Whoever shows up on Mondays at the appointed time and place goes on the ride. Most of the time there is no need to confirm whether or not you're coming. We ask that your bike is in good repair, and you feel capable of staying with the group. Having an enjoyable time is what we are about.
Annual dues for the bike group are $2.00 per person and $3.00 per couple, payable to Patti McGrath at the first Newcomers General Meeting in September or the first ride one attends.
