Bowling
Candlepin bowling uses three small bowls per frame and skinny, hard to knock down pins. Just ask any Newcomer who plays at the Orleans Bowling Center on 6A, Orleans, on Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m.
Most who sign up haven't tied on a bowling shoe in 40 years and comments like "The only reason I bowl is that you get to go out to supper after", are common.
This popular activity lends itself to socializing. During two frames of bowling and supper after, at a local restaurant, you could easily meet 15 new people.
Can't commit to every Tuesday? You will be away for the winter? Your spouse doesn't bowl? No problem. He/she can sit and chat. Cost: $10
