Chatham Womens Club is a community service organization and a social club of around 190 members from Chatham and the surrounding area. Members do fundraising for scholarships to local college students and donations to community needs. A house tour, fundraising home parties, silent auctions, and raffles involve the members in fun activities to support the local community. Meetings are at the Chatham Community Center from October through April on the second Thursday of the month. Each meeting features a tea at Noon, a business meeting, and a program with a speaker on an interesting range of subjects. Members work as volunteers in their choice of activities and logged in more than 15,800 hours at the library, on town committees, at the food pantry, First Night Chatham, churches, and numerous other volunteer groups. It’s a very friendly group that welcomes new members any time of the year. Creating new friendships is as important as community service to the Club.
