Mah-jongg

Mah Jongg is a game of ancient origin played with tiles. It requires skill, strategy and luck.

Within Newcomers there are varying ways of participating in Mah Jongg.

• For complete beginners, we can provide the name of an excellent teacher. She provides a series of five 2 hour lessons for $40.
• For those who know how to play, we can provide the names of others who are interested in forming a group that meets regularly in member homes at their mutual convenience.
• For those who know how to play but only want to play occasionally, we can add your name to our substitute list and make it available to those who have regular groups but need the occasional sub.
• For those who would like to play with varied partners, there are drop-in sessions at the local community centers as follows
  • Chatham Community Center on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 1-5pm
  • Harwich Community Center every Tuesday morning at 9am ($1.00 donation)
